Exe Estepona Thalasso & Spa - Adults only

We had a Superior Room and were pleasantly surprised by how spacious it was. The wraparound balcony had two sun loungers, the bed was enormous and very comfortable, and the room and bathroom were impeccably clean. The pool area was spotless, beautifully maintained, and a wonderful place to relax. The pool food was outstanding, especially the delicious burgers. Raquel manages Exe Estepona exceptionally well. Her leadership shows in the friendly, attentive, professional service from the whole team. She took time to mingle and chat with guests at breakfast, which made the atmosphere feel genuinely welcoming. Desiree and Raul also consistently went above and beyond, with professionalism, friendliness, and great attention to detail. From start to finish, our stay was fabulous. We’d happily return and highly recommend Exe Estepona for a relaxing, enjoyable stay.

The breakfast was good, and I enjoyed the spa, though you have to pay extra to use it. We booked a Superior Room expecting the pool view shown on Booking, but our room faced a busy road and the traffic noise was significant. When we raised it, staff said the rooms shown online weren’t available, which didn’t feel like a satisfactory answer. The pool is smaller than it looks in the photos, and you really need a car because of the location.

The rooms feel old and well used, with lino flooring and noisy air conditioning units. The hotel seriously needs an upgrade. For a 4 star hotel in Spain, I’d expect more than a small outdoor pool included in the price. The spa costs extra to use.

There isn't much to do nearby in the evening, apart from a few restaurants in Cancelada, about a 15-20 minute walk away. La Finca in Cancelada was great, five stars. The hotel bar was often left without anyone there, so reception had to call a waiter when we needed something, and it shut early with nowhere to get water afterward. Maybe this place works better in summer; off season it didn't. The spa was okay, though the big pool seems to be gone and some features weren't working. Our room was clean and breakfast was fine. We skipped dinner since the menu was mostly fish. Free parking was limited, and hotel parking cost 15€.
