The bathroom is shared, with private showers and toilets divided by gender, and there's only a little bar with very few food or drink choices. The bigger problems were the manager, who came across as rude and dismissive when guests asked questions, and the heating, which shut off around 9:45 pm. The bunk room got freezing within a few hours, and no blankets were supplied, so bring your own. One of the worst albergues we stayed in on the Camino.

I wouldn't stay here even if every other place was full. The man running it seemed drunk when I arrived, smelled of alcohol, shouted at me in Spanish while I was politely using a translator, then moved close and poked me with his finger. He threw my money at me and kicked me out. I reported him to the police. If I could rate it minus five, I would.

Dust everywhere, strict rules, and a language barrier made this a poor stay. It seems to be run by one person and really needs more staff. The lower rating is deserved. If the public albergue has a free bed, it's the better choice.

For a pilgrim heading toward Santiago de Compostela, this is a good spot in Fromista. The facilities were clean, the location was convenient, and there was a basic kitchen. Best of all, the price was good.

A friendly welcome, clean rooms, and linen already on the beds. The lawn outside was lovely, with plenty of chairs and tables.
