Hostal Moni Albayzin

I stayed three nights in a twin room. It was very small and basic, but fair for the price. There's a lovely terrace with a really good view of the city, where you can have breakfast. The hosts don't speak English, so communicating can be quite difficult if you need anything you can't explain in Spanish.

Granada itself is beautiful, and I'd come back to visit, though I'd be more careful about this part of my trip. After the room was cleaned, we found money missing from an envelope we'd left there. Maybe it was our mistake to leave it in a drawer, but when we told the host, she wasn't welcoming and blamed us, saying we might have forgotten where it was or spent it and not remembered. I've traveled around Europe for two months and never had this happen before. It was also the first time we'd left money in a room. I wouldn't stay here again, though maybe we were just unlucky.

The hosts were really nice, and the pension had good facilities, especially the terrace and breakfast that was available at any time. It's a great base for exploring Granada, but be prepared to climb some hills. The neighborhood's atmosphere and views make the effort worthwhile.

Small but lovely. Simply the best, more than five stars. Love it.
