Hostel Nut

I didn’t need public transport at all, since Granada is a city where you end up walking a lot anyway. Everything was about a 20-minute walk from the Alhambra complex, the Albaicin and Sacromonte neighborhoods, and around 45 minutes from the bus and train station. The location worked out perfectly. The staff were so nice, and Carlos was especially thoughtful. He checked the breakfast ingredients for me as a Muslim woman, then helped me plan my first day with suggestions for places to visit, tapas restaurants, and spots to watch the sunset and see Alhambra.

The hostel itself is clean, nice, and in a great spot, but I wouldn’t count on its luggage storage if you’re catching a train. I left my bag there before my train and came back to find no one to unlock it. Calls and WhatsApp messages went unanswered, so after waiting 30 minutes I missed the train. I understand staff may need to step away, but some notice would’ve helped. They booked me onto another train, but it arrived three hours later and involved a connection, disrupting my plans. Really disappointing, and management needs to improve communication.

Everything about my stay felt easy and cozy, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The hostel was quiet at night, so I rested well. The kitchen and common space were comfortable and well equipped, and most places were around a 10-minute walk away.

We had a lovely time here. It’s clean, modern, and has everything you need. The staff and volunteers were really nice, and Carlos made a great receptionist.
