Pensión Zacatin

This was a clean, comfortable, peaceful place at a good price in a great location. Just make sure you get a receipt. A mix-up among the staff made it seem as if I hadn't paid for one of my nights. The young, friendly clerk spoke English, but apparently hadn't told the two senior managers, who don't speak much English, that I'd paid a second installment. I had to stand my ground so they wouldn't charge me again. I'm sure it was an honest mistake. The managers were soft-spoken and listened patiently to my broken Spanglish, and it was sorted out with apologies and handshakes. A receipt would've prevented the whole stressful situation.

The room was extremely cold and damp, and it stank. Compare these pictures with the ones on Booking and judge for yourself. They wouldn't offer a price reduction or another room matching the listing and what we'd paid. When we were filling in a complaint sheet, they also refused to provide their TIN. Don't book here!!! The accommodation looks nothing like the photos on Booking. It's a disgrace.

I booked a double room with a balcony and got a shabby little room with single beds and a window blocked by a wall. The owners said the other rooms were all booked and called it a “mistake,” but they offered no compensation. I checked online and saw rooms were still available. It sounds more like a “scam” to me.

Just run from this place, don't even think about booking it. The building was dirty and noisy, and our room was tiny. There was cigarette ash in the drawer, just imagine that during covid time. The owner doesn't give a damn about what you say. They post fake photos on booking.com and don't care.
