Hotel Abades Guadix

For a 4-star hotel, I expected tea or coffee in the room, but there wasn't any. The “Breakfast Included” option covers one croissant and one tea or coffee per guest, served once per stay or day, depending on how often you intend to have it. Anything extra can be bought separately.

The pillows are the one thing I'd change, which is why I'm giving four stars. Otherwise, the hotel was warm and comfortable, and the rooms were spacious and comfortable too. Some people call the rooms old-fashioned and say they need updating, but I think they're just right. The wood and marble are beautiful and very architectural. I'd definitely stay again.

The reception staff were very nice, but we booked breakfast and never got it. The bar was packed, we had to wait, and eventually left. Hotel guests should have their own designated area. We also think hot food should be available all day. Our room was just OK and looked tired, with stains on the bedspread and holes in the armchair upholstery. The shower only spurted water and didn't work properly.

The staff at reception and in the cafeteria were friendly, and the service was great. Breakfast was good too, though a relaxed meal is hard when busloads of tourists are coming in. As for the hotel, it felt average and a bit outdated, and I wouldn't call it four-star like the website does. The room was noisy because it's right by the highway. Fine for one or two nights.
