Hotel Residencial Las Dunas

The one good thing, if I had to name one, is how close it is to the beach. Everything else was very old and outdated, and at 66 euros for the room, I thought the price was outrageous for the service. The rooms are dated, and cleaning was poor. The towels had stains, the bathroom was even worse, and the TV remote didn’t work. The curtains wouldn’t close. They put me in a room connected to another by a door. It had locks on both sides, but I could still hear everything from the other room, even whispers. Parking was the final straw: finding a spot was practically impossible. You’re lucky to find one in a paid zone, and then you have to keep watching the time.

The only good thing is the location. Everything was very dirty, totally outdated and looked like it was from the 1960s. The entrance had an unpleasant appearance, the beds were very uncomfortable, and there was a lot of noise. There’s no parking. I could write a page about the downsides, but I’d better stop or nobody would go after reading this. It badly needs a renovation.

I felt comfortable and well looked after. The facilities were perfectly adequate, the food was good, and the hotel is right on the beachfront in a very good location. The weather is lovely too.

We were on holiday in Guardamar and went for a night walk to look at the stalls beside the hotel. My young son suddenly needed the restroom, so I went into the hotel since it was the closest place at that moment. When I asked the receptionist if I could use it, he told me the hotel had no restrooms. That felt inhumane, especially since the bar right next to reception has its own restroom.
