Casa Rural Sierra Tórtola

The small "tanque Alentejo" was a nice place to cool off. We had a very pleasant three days and were well looked after, with a spot to park beside the house arranged for us. Nothing was missing. There can be mosquitoes or flies in summer, so bringing spray is a good idea. It worked well for a short stay, especially for visiting the cave of wonders in Aracena and the museums. Worth the experience. Good luck!

The village was a lovely surprise, clean and well kept, with its beauty preserved in part because it's tucked away in the mountains. There are also nearby outings that work well with children, including the Celtic settlement of Capote and the caves of Fuentes de León. We stayed two nights with our two young kids in a spotless, spacious room with a quiet, cozy interior terrace. Breakfast was incredible, especially the rustic bread, freshly crushed tomatoes, and spectacular ham. Lunch and dinner were excellent quality for a very reasonable price, and the warm, attentive service made us feel at home. We'd definitely return, since there are still so many routes we wanted to explore.

The house stays cool, and it's in a quiet spot. There's a barbecue available, and the plunge pool is fantastic. At first it looked like there might be nowhere to park, but thankfully there's always somewhere to leave the car. A pleasant house for a family weekend, with everything we needed and a friendly, helpful host.
