Hostal Mara

We stayed one night in July 2025 and really liked the bathroom, which was spacious and clean. The long pillows were comfortable, and the hostess was amazingly friendly and welcoming. Definitely recommend!

The staff were very friendly, and the place was cleaner than I expected from reading the reviews. Great location. A few things could be better: the elevator only starts on the first floor, there were no curtains in our room, the blankets looked older than my granny's, and the work table was completely worn out. Beds and pillows were okay. The bathroom was fully renovated and had all the toiletries we needed.

The owners were very helpful and let us leave some bags there while we went on a bike tour. The rooms are simple, clean, and functional for the price. Close the windows and they block noise well, and the shutters make the room dark. Wi-Fi doesn't reach every room well, as others have mentioned. The elevator starts on the 2nd floor (1st floor for Europeans), so you have to carry your suitcase up a narrow flight of stairs first. Not great with heavy luggage or bikes.

The crew was very helpful, and laundry cost me only 7 Euros, though it took almost days. There's an elevator, but it only runs from the 1st floor. There is no air conditioning, but it's rarely needed in A Coruña. Smoking is allowed in rooms, so if that bothers you, make sure to get a non-smoking room.
