Casa Torellola

María, the owner, was incredibly welcoming, and I felt at home as soon as I arrived. Casa Torellola was clean, comfortable, easy to get to, and well placed for the most iconic spots in the Vall de Boí. What a great weekend. I’ll definitely do it again soon. Thanks so much for everything, María.

We came as four families, and each had an en-suite bathroom. There were extra folding beds for anyone who needed one. The house was very clean and had everything we needed, even dishwasher tablets. The owner was kind and answered our questions. We’ll definitely come back.

We had the house for eight people, and the peaceful, authentic setting in a tiny village near Barruera was lovely. Maria met us on time, showed us around, and explained what we needed to know. The house is set up well for winter, with good heating. Every room has natural light, a bathroom, and a wardrobe. The kitchen has a dishwasher and washing machine, and there were dishwashing tablets and complimentary Dolce Gusto capsules. Cleaning was quite good, and every bathroom had towels. We didn’t lack anything essential, and the price-quality ratio is very good. If we return to the Vall de Boí, this will be our first choice. There are things that need updating, though. The crockery and some kitchen utensils looked worn, the toaster could be replaced, and the pans were so scratched that it felt like we were eating Teflon. We’d also prefer duvet covers to the old sheets and blankets. We weren’t cold, but newer bedding would look more modern. The double beds are deformed and slope up in the middle, though the pillows still have some life in them. The sofas were uncomfortable, one kept shifting under you, and the covers didn’t feel very hygienic. Fresh throws for each arrival, or reupholstering, would help. We also didn’t like the smell when we first entered, so an air freshener might be a good idea. It’s a great place for a few days of rest, but updating the equipment and comfort would make it more competitive. Being the only rural houses in Cardet shouldn’t mean skipping investment in guests’ comfort and keeping the house up to date.

The house is spacious and comfortable, with a bathroom in every room and comfortable beds. The kitchen is well equipped, and the heating works very well. It’s well located for peaceful stays and excursions.
