We stayed on May 31, 2024, and were very disappointed. The shower had no mount for its broken showerhead, so I had to hold the handheld wand in one hand and wash with the other. The hair dryer was broken too, and water escaped from the shower onto the bathroom floor, where they kept a disgusting mop and bucket. Although a kitchen is advertised, guests aren't allowed to use the stove because it's supposedly broken, even though it looked like someone, probably staff, had been cooking on it. The microwaves were tiny and barely powerful enough. The outdoor laundry sinks were the dirtiest I've seen in Spain, caked in grime as if they hadn't been cleaned for months. The fridge was in a room locked from 9pm to 9am, no use if you're leaving early. They advertise morning coffee and tea, but we couldn't find any before departure. On top of that, loud people came in at 4:30am after drinking and woke us. If you have another option, stay somewhere else.

The room was fine and the location was good, but I was woken several times by noise during my Saturday stay. The place seemed full of large groups of drunk Spanish people. If you're a pilgrim hoping to sleep well, avoid Saturday night or bring decent earplugs.

We were the only guests who hadn't cancelled after a snowstorm, but the staff still kept the hostel open for us, welcomed us that evening and put out a modest breakfast the next morning. They were incredibly kind. The place had only opened four months before our late-2014 visit, so the interior was completely new, tasteful, comfortable and clean. It's just a minute's walk from Plaza Mayor. I've stayed in hostels all over the world, and this was the nicest accommodation I've had. I'd highly recommend it and hope to return someday.

It's clean and efficient, with a handy communal kitchen and TVs in the lounge areas on every floor. The bathrooms are excellent. The location is good, in the old city near Plaza Major. The main drawback is that poor air circulation can make the rooms quite warm.

The room and bathroom were clean, but there was nowhere to dry your hands after using the bathroom. The kitchen was apparently closed because of covid. They said tea and coffee were complimentary, but there was no kettle, so how were we meant to make them? The back yard was filthy, with full ashtrays, dirty tables and chairs, and an overflowing rubbish bin. Music played through the speakers around the clock despite the stated quiet hours of 23:00-08:00. Early Camino walkers at 05:00 were very inconsiderate, and the front desk wasn't staffed. It was noisy and unrestful, and I wouldn't stay here again.
