A great starting point for the Camino de Santiago from León, just a stone’s throw from the Camino Passport issuance centre. The upper floors have a view worth taking in, and the lobby’s interior architecture has early 20th-century charm, restored to its former glory. The front desk staff were friendly and ready to help. Special mention to Javier, on the night shift, whose knowledge of the hotel’s history and heritage impressed me.

Right in the centre, with enough room to move around and steady shower water. The TV signal was weak, though, and the washroom door was heavy and hard to push.

The bed was very comfortable, and the staff were friendly and professional. Breakfast was excellent, with plenty of choices. I stayed three nights. The hotel is beautiful, though my room layout felt a bit odd and cramped in the toilet room, which was separate from the shower.

Breakfast was good, though the room for it is small and can get busy. The hotel has Wi-Fi, but the login process is awful and overly complicated. You need to validate by email, so you can’t do it without cell service. There’s only one tiny elevator for eight floors, with room for four people at most if they have no bags. The location is great. Some toilet rooms have odd layouts because of the building’s shape and the indoor atrium.
