Posada Maruja

Maruja is what gives this charming place its special character. We had the tasting menu, with generous servings of lovely traditional food that really felt like a trip through La Mancha. Authentic and well worth recommending. I'd come back.

The restaurant feels like a traditional village home, so we were comfortable right away. We chose the tasting menu and loved the homemade food and its genuine flavor. The staff were so friendly and attentive. Food that's natural and made at home is something we could all use more of these days. Thank you 😊

The old inn feel of the place is really nice. We went for the tasting menu, and while a few dishes were quite good, the lone egg and potatoes sitting in so much oil left me wanting more for €22.50.

The set menu costs €17, which I think is too much, though you can choose a single dish if you don't want a large meal. The place was clean, and so was the bathroom, with toilet paper and soap. The food had that mother-or-grandmother-cooked-at-home taste, and it was all nicely prepared. The potatoes were a little undercooked, though they reminded me of Murcia's "patatas a lo pobre." The pork loin was very good, and the paella delicious. Some dishes were a bit oily, but the quality was high and everything tasted great. For dessert, we had the local specialty.
