L'Arceda

Salut, the owner, looked after us really well. We stayed at the Arceda farmhouse with friends and had a great time. The setting is peaceful, with lovely views, and Solsona is close by if you need anything. Inside, the rooms and lounges are well kept, and the kitchen is roomy and well equipped. There’s also a separate building for barbecues and games. Highly recommend it.

The main drawback for us was the access for anyone with reduced mobility. The bedrooms are upstairs, so the accommodation websites should make that clear. We had to improvise a makeshift room on the ground floor. Otherwise, it’s a cozy, clean and quiet place with great views of the Port del Comte mountains, snow-capped in winter, and Solsona is about 9 km away. The kitchen is spacious and has plenty of cutlery and utensils. Most of the large bedrooms have their own bathroom, with one exception. The first floor also has a shared bathroom and a roomy living-dining area with a table for at least 20, a TV and a fireplace we enjoyed every day. Upstairs there are more bedrooms, another fireplace, sofas, a TV, children’s games and a small tucked-away room for reading. We were there at Easter 2024, so we couldn’t use the pool, though it must be lovely in summer. The annex has a barbecue, fridge, sink, ping-pong and foosball tables, plus a very large table. Rating: 4.5/5.

The setting was beautiful and secluded, and the house was both comfortable and lovely. We were a large group and had a perfect weekend. We’ll be back, it was a great choice.

We had an issue with the heating, but it was fixed very quickly and the hosts were attentive. The house itself is spectacular, spacious and comfortable, with modern renovations that keep the style and original architecture of the old farmhouse. It’s fully equipped, with fireplaces, a barbecue area and many rooms with bathrooms. There’s nobody around, just nature, and at night you can see a sky full of stars and hear absolutely nothing. I’d recommend it 100%.
