Garbi Park Lloret Hotel

The cleaning lady was nice, but the room wasn't clean. There was a dirty sock under the bed, hair everywhere, and hair on the towels. The bathroom was dirty too. The walls were thin, so I could hear everything from the room next door.

The location was convenient, but I definitely wouldn't choose this hotel again. It's listed as 4 stars, though to me it's 3 at most. The building is very [source unclear], and the rooms are very basic, with no fridge or kettle. About 95% of the guests seemed to be teenagers, and the hotel was noisy because of that. The food wasn't special and didn't have much variety. The receptionist also gave us incorrect information about a parking discount.

The location is decent, around a 10-minute walk to the beach and right beside the nightlife, which could suit people coming for that. But if you're after the family-friendly holiday the hotel advertises, this isn't it. Rowdy groups were screaming, shouting, and partying until 4 AM almost every night. I wouldn't recommend staying here unless you're travelling solo and just need a bed. I can't understand how this place has four stars. Our airport transfer dropped us on the main party street without telling us how to reach the hotel, which was a difficult five-minute walk away. We had to use Google Maps. The tiny lifts struggled to fit two people and two cases, and wouldn't fit a wheelchair and its user. We booked a double room but got two single beds. The bed was uncomfortable and scratchy. A British couple told us they were leaving halfway through their stay after getting bitten all over by bedbugs. Food choices were minimal and seemed to lack flavor. Leftovers from dinner were often reheated the next morning. There were only four main meal options, with rock-hard bread rolls and dry pastries alongside them. Desserts were poor, and my partner and I both had food poisoning. The staff seemed miserable, the restaurant wasn't very clean, and obnoxious guests shouted across the room, creating an unpleasant, disrespectful atmosphere. Staff didn't seem to bat an eyelid. The advertised splash park seemed not to exist, and the pool was unclean, with lots of debris floating on the surface. There was a lifeguard, but he sat on his phone all day and paid no attention to anyone in the pool. I know we booked a cheap holiday and didn't expect anything special, but at a four-star rating and £500, we expected much more. In my opinion this is a two-star place, maybe scraping three on a good day. A bartender served me a drink in a glass with lipstick stains. He brought another glass, but simply poured the drink into it. When we spoke with staff about the hotel transfer, they said we had to arrange one through them and tried to charge another €70, even though we'd already prepaid for a coach. On our way out, my partner and I stood in the road with our cases, waving our arms at the transfer driver, but he drove straight past us.

The Gran Garbi turned out to be lovely, but we only got moved there after a long, upsetting ordeal at Garbi Park. The rooms looked nothing like the pictures, which overwhelmed my autistic children in the unfamiliar surroundings and upset them, and me too. In the first room, the cleaning wasn't proper: there was dust and bugs, so check under the beds. I was told the cleaners were overwhelmed, but they had still put me and my children in the room. After I complained, we were moved to an even worse room. It had sharp cracked floor tiles, dust everywhere, poo stains in the bathroom, and what looked like years of dirt under the bed. The area around the door was cracked and hanging off the wall. The rooms were not pleasant at all. I booked a four-star hotel for a reason. After going back and forth with anna, who was very rude, I started recording the conversation. She had left me and my children sitting in reception all day and said she could do nothing, without even offering to have housekeeping clean the room properly. She also said she'd stayed in a four-star hotel in London that was worse than garbi park, which made me laugh. Once I told her I was recording, she suddenly became nice and moved us to the gran garbi hotel. If you're going there with children, especially children with additional needs, be cautious.
