+ The kitchen is well equipped, staff are friendly, and there’s a rooftop terrace to spend time on in summer. It seems like they clean the rooms every day. Bunk mattresses are okay. - The area is very touristy and loud, surrounded by restaurants, bars, and clubs. The windows don’t close properly, so the noise carries on. The ensuite bathroom can be annoying in dorms, the shower didn’t drain, and the sheets smell strongly of detergent. ? It’s on the second floor with no elevator. The reservation amount is put on your credit card and then returned, instead of being deducted from what you pay on arrival. It’s probably a party hostel in summer.

The receptionist was so friendly, and I’m grateful for everything. This is the most beautiful, clean, comfortable, and convenient hostel I’ve ever stayed in.

The four-bed private area was quiet and clean, and I really liked the terrace. Other guests seemed friendly, and the bathrooms were clean too. We were very happy with our stay at Barbieri Sol. It’s a great base for enjoying Madrid.

We tried both a four-bed mixed dorm and a private room, and liked both. The private room was better than any hostel private room we’d stayed in before, almost hotel-like. Everything was cheap and clean, and the hostel was surprisingly quiet despite being on a busy street. I’m a light sleeper and had no trouble sleeping. One thing to know: the lockers can be pushed out of the way and opened even with a small lock, so bring or buy a thick one to keep your things safe. Very nice hostel overall.

The hostel is central and the street is very busy, with noise that lasts into the early morning. That’s not the hostel’s fault, but I’d bring earplugs. Inside, it’s quiet, the beds are comfortable, and the staff are friendly and accommodating.
