The room was spacious and comfortable, and it had a dumb valet that made hanging up jackets quick in winter. There’s no coffee setup in the room, but the lounge has a great coffee machine and comfortable seating. The staff were efficient and helpful. For the train or metro, follow Google Maps and make sure you leave the station onto the right street. From Plaza De Spania metro, the hotel is a very short walk away if you exit correctly, but the other exit is in the opposite direction. The hotel is well placed for sightseeing. The Temple of Debod is walkable, and a visit to its gardens at night gives you a great view of the Royal palace and the city. You can also walk to the Royal Palace, the Cathedral, and the Gallery of Royal Collections, all in the same area. Book palace entry ahead to avoid queues. Ask the staff to mark the hotel on the tourist map they provide. It also helps to note the places you want to see, such as the palace, so you can quickly plot them and orient yourself.

Good evening. I booked a room at your hotel for 15.02.26-16.02.26 through AGODA, but our flight was cancelled and we’ll only reach Madrid tomorrow. AGODA told me to contact you directly. I’m not asking for a refund, could you please move our booking to 23.02.26-24.02.26? This really wasn’t our fault, and we’re very stressed. Please help us.

The staff were all friendly and very helpful, and I’d thoroughly recommend this hotel for a trip to Madrid. The location is excellent for Gran Via, the Royal Palace, and its gardens. There’s plenty for breakfast, with options for everyone, plus water and a coffee machine available 24/7. Our room was large, with lots of wardrobe space and a comfortable bed, and the bathroom and shower were great. One small downside: the dressing table in room 215 was a bit worn and could use a mirror above it for doing my hair.

The room smelled like death, and I don’t think rooms with that smell should be rented out. This isn’t a cheap hotel, so I shouldn’t have to see the same dead cockroach on the floor two days in a row. Edit: I’ve now noticed that people sometimes complain about the same smell while others don’t. Maybe it depends on which part of the hotel you’re in. If you’re willing to risk it, it’ll probably be fine 7 times out of 10. Otherwise, you might get the smell of sewage, dead people, or wet socks.
