We had a whole One-Bedroom Apartment.

The reception staff were really helpful and gave me my room earlier than expected, which I appreciated. The place is practical and has everything you need for a short stay. It's in Madrid's most creative neighborhood, right in the heart of the city but away from the hustle and bustle, with good shops and restaurants downstairs.

The location is unbeatable, right in the heart of Chueca, but I couldn't sleep a single night. The "soundproofing" listed on Booking.com doesn't match reality. I could hear everything, from the street and other rooms, including ordinary conversations and arguments, as well as cars. It had the acoustics of a theater. I only saw the receptionist at check-in and check-out, so I had no chance to raise the issue. A place to stay needs to let guests get a good night's sleep, and this failed at that. With Chueca such a lively neighborhood, proper soundproofing seems essential. On top of the noise, tons of light came into the room. With both the noise and the light, sleeping was impossible.

Finding the place after dark was a real struggle. The sign downstairs is almost useless, reception isn't staffed at night, and when we had a problem we were left waiting at the entrance for an hour with no emergency number or other way to get help. For a small functional hotel, I think an emergency contact should be posted. The staff were friendly and helpful, though they spoke only some English. The location is great and fairly central. Our room was modern, clean, and adequate, but very small and minimalist. The bathroom was especially cramped. I can still recommend the hotel.
