HOMEnFUN Puerta del Sol 3

We stayed at Hotel Quatro Puerta del Sol, and a new Longchamp bag worth 125€ disappeared from our room right after housekeeping went in. It had been there before the cleaning. We were told nothing could be done. There was no manager available, no proper response, no attempt to investigate, and no accountability. Guests should be able to feel safe leaving belongings in their rooms, and this situation left us seriously concerned about the hotel’s security and professionalism. The incident happened on a Saturday, when no manager was available, and no immediate action was taken. We were told it was “under investigation,” but there’s been no concrete result, transparency, accountability, or communication. We’re still left without answers, and it’s hard not to question how this was handled, including whether the timing was coincidental. I’ll keep updating this review until the issue is properly resolved. I’ve also been unable to post or update my review, as it appears to be held back from publication. That raises further concerns about transparency. Guests should be able to share their experiences honestly, and keeping reviews from appearing only adds to the loss of trust. Be very careful about staying here, or consider not staying at all. I strongly advise future guests to think twice.

The room safe wasn’t working when we arrived, but the front desk responded quickly and offered to keep our valuables in their safe while it was being repaired. The room itself was a good size by European standards, with two twin beds, two closets, and a desk. The TV was small, with few English channels, though you probably shouldn’t be spending much time watching television in Madrid. We stayed four nights, and housekeeping cleaned the room and changed the towels daily. The location is convenient for walking to the main attractions, with Sevilla, Gran Via, and Sol metro stations nearby for anywhere farther away. It’s near Puerta del Sol, across from the Four Seasons and JW Marriott, and felt like good value for the location. Arturo checked us in early and was very affable. We’ll be back!

For the price and the quality of what’s included, this is easily one of Madrid’s best hotel choices. It’s clean and quiet, with very good service and an excellent breakfast. The location is right in the city center, directly across from the Four Seasons, which is hard to beat.

The staff were amazing, and we’ll definitely return. We spent three nights in room 701, which had a comfortable bed, a built-in wardrobe, a well-equipped bathroom, and a fantastic balcony. The hotel is right in the city center, with taxis outside if you need one and plenty within walking distance. We found everything from churros and hot chocolate to tacos, Argentine steaks, and traditional pubs.
