Hostal Gonzalo

Javier made the biggest difference to my stay. He was kind, thoughtful, and meticulous about making sure guests were comfortable. Traveling alone as a 62-year-old woman, I felt safe and very much at home. I was visiting Madrid for the first time, and Hostal Gonzalo turned out to be a perfect choice. My room was spotless and comfortably furnished, the bed and bath linen were fresh, and it was wonderfully quiet and restful. I'd recommend this hostal without hesitation, and I'd certainly stay again if I return. Thank you, Javier!

Antonio and Javier were so kind and helpful, and they answered all our questions. They even let my family and me check in earlier than expected. The hostal is clean, spacious, and right in the middle of Madrid, close to just about anything you might want to do. I'd happily recommend it and hope to come back.

Restaurants, cervecerias, and cafes are all within a three block walk, and the location is especially handy for museum visits. Javier and the team also took great care of my parents, helping with their walker and luggage, which I really appreciated. The rooms were an 8/10, service 10/10, and location 10/10. It was good value, and we were treated very well. Staff cleaned our rooms and changed the towels each morning after we left. I look forward to returning.

My room was bright and cheerful, with a lovely courtyard window, a very comfortable bed, and a nicely modern bathroom. I stayed nine nights and felt at home the whole time. It's a family owned place in an ideal spot in the heart of Madrid, and the family were always around to help with whatever I needed. The cleanliness was at my grandmother's perfectionist level. I'd give it a top 10 and would definitely return to Hostal Gonzalo. One small thing that could make it better: a simple self serve coffee area at breakfast.
