The place itself is great, which made this especially surprising after reviews praised its cleanliness. I stayed two nights. After the first, I noticed a strange rash on my hands; after the second, the spots were swollen and had bite marks. I'd had bed bug trouble years ago and recognized the signs. We found some bugs under the pillow. We told the woman at reception, but beyond apologizing, they didn't address it. At first I felt sorry for them because they seemed genuinely surprised. Later, when I messaged to ask about compensation, they said they hadn't found any insects, which simply can't be true. I don't think this issue should be brushed aside. If they deny there's a problem, they'll keep renting room 206, which should be chemically cleaned and closed for a while.

I booked at the last minute, and this was the cheapest place that came up in the area on Google. It was okay, with a basic bed, but the shower kept switching between hot and cold. Gran Via, with all its shops, is very close. Turn right from the hostal and you'll find more Chinese restaurants, plus a little square with a nice tarrassa for a drink or breakfast. My son played with the local kids there while I had a vino. ☺

A good guest house in central Madrid, only 5 metres from Gran Vía and Plaza Luna. The lively spots in Sol and Malasaña are right nearby. Clean, quiet and cheap, with good value for money. Highly recommended.

Just off gran Vía, so the location is fantastic, and the price is good. The room's small, but nice, with a comfortable double bed and ensuite. The walls are thin, though, so it can depend on how noisy your neighbours are.
