Hostal Miralva

The rooms are simple but beautiful, with stucco ceilings, well-kept old wooden Chevron floors, original tilings and calm blue walls. My bed was comfortable, and the service was great. There's a lot of character here, and it feels like a lot of love goes into keeping the place this way. The location is great too. I’d come back :) Most of the bad reviews seem to be from a few years ago, so maybe things have improved.

We were happy with our two-night stay at the end of November, going with two friends. It was very quiet inside, and the rooms were spacious enough without being overcrowded. The bathrooms were clean, and the prices are low, with everything you'd expect for that price. It's in a lovely old palace, right in the centre, just a few minutes from the Senate, the Royal Palace and the main streets. I'd recommend it for a short visit to central Madrid.

The location is right in the centre, so it's handy for exploring the city, and you can check out as early as you want. For such a cheap place, the service is good and friendly, and everything was clean. Don't expect big, modern rooms or fancy showers. It's currently being renovated, though the review cuts off there.

No bunks, and they provide a towel, unlike an average hostel. It's central but still quiet. There aren't lockers, and there are no dividers between the beds. A sign outside would make the place easier to find. No kitchen or other shared space either.
