I’m so glad to write this review. The personal, rustic feel of Hostal Regional reminded me of a kind of travel I thought had disappeared. I’ve spent years travelling for work and stayed in plenty of Marriotts, so I know what luxury is like. This isn’t that, and that’s fine. It’s simple and affordable, which suits my tiny travel budget now. A young girl spent hours playing with my daughter, and I got to practise my Spanish with the proprietor. The staff helped me find a supermarket, and I could store food in the refrigerator. I get tired of people who pay $200 a night for luxury hotels and then complain about peeling paint in a place like this. Hopefully it stays simple and available for budget travellers like me.

The breakfasts were amazing, and the menu felt really special. The staff provided excellent service, too. It’s a welcoming, wonderful hostel, and I’d recommend it to everyone. Go enjoy this lovely place.

The owners are so kind and welcoming, and the rooms are simple, comfortable, and clean. It’s in a very central spot and the price is excellent. If I’m back in Madrid, I’ll definitely stay here again.
