I had a confirmed booking, then they cancelled it without telling me. The staff were rude, so I called the Police and reported them. Horrible experience. Please don't go there. Never again, HOSTAL RICO MADRID.

I've known this Hostal for almost 20 years. It's comfortable, the owners are very nice, and I've got lovely memories from my stays. A great experience, and I highly recommend it!

The staff were great, and the place was clean. Most of all, it's right in the heart of downtown Madrid.

Easy to find and close to the metro. The host was friendly and efficient, and the place was clean and comfortable. A smart solution.

We were first given a room with just one bed, although we'd booked two. The manager was friendly and accommodating. The rooms were very clean, and the hotel sits on a shopping street in the center, close to Madrid's main tourist spots. One other issue: the air conditioning shown in the photo and description wasn't there. We had a fan instead, which just wasn't the same in 38°C heat.
