Hotel Intelier Palacio San Martín

The staff were polite and really did try to help, but the building itself caused problems. Our room looked onto an enclosed courtyard covered by glass, so there was very little air circulation and we couldn’t ventilate it properly. Rain hitting the glass made an extremely disturbing noise. I was there with my daughter. Sharing a double bed was fine, but getting a second duvet became an unnecessary ordeal. On day one, we got a thick duvet with no cover, so we couldn’t use it. The next day, housekeeping put the second duvet inside the one already there. When we asked again that evening, another duvet arrived without a cover. After asking once more, we were given only a sheet, which couldn’t properly work as a duvet cover. In the end, we still couldn’t use the second duvet. I wasn’t satisfied with the value for the price.

The breakfast buffet was compact but nicely put together, with a good range to start the day. I especially liked that they’d cook eggs the way you want. The rooms at Intelier Palacio San Martín are simple and cozy, and I appreciated the full bathroom amenities, including a toothbrush and shaver. The hotel is very central, so getting around Madrid was easy. We asked if we could check out late and were happy to pay, but staff were quite firm in saying no, which was disappointing. Still, it was a comfortable, enjoyable stay in a great location, and I’d stay there again in Madrid.

Staying here was such a good decision for our Madrid trip. The location was unmatched, and breakfast and the room size were just as impressive. Everything was top notch, and it deserves five stars. We spent a week here in January, and it was surprisingly affordable. What a gem! We’ll definitely come back whenever we’re in Madrid again. 🙇🏻‍♀️🙇🏻‍♀️

The terrace made our stay feel special, and the hotel was clean, safe, and right near all the great spots. Everyone greeted us with a smile. When I said I was still learning Spanish, the receptionist was patient and spoke slowly, which made me feel really welcome. We wish we’d had longer in Madrid. I can’t wait to come back and stay here again. We’ll definitely be returning!
