Madrid Centro-Gran Vía

The apartment had all the necessities listed in my booking, and the receptionist was so friendly and helpful to my family throughout. We had a lot of fun nearby and felt safe. Shops, galleries, markets, and clubs were all around, and the apartment hotel’s location is amazing. Thanks to AMEX for the great recommendation. I’ll definitely stay here next time I’m in Madrid.

A full kitchen was a real bonus, and we’d stay here again. It was quiet, in a safe area, and the location was pretty good. This was our first accommodation on our Europe trip, and it made for a nice stay.

The location is the main reason to consider this place. It’s close to Gran Via, the metro, Puerto de Sol, restaurants, and mercados, all an easy walk away. The apartment had a kitchen and dining table, which worked well for our group of five, though there was no microwave. The rooms had only the bare basics: blankets and one pillow per person, but no soap, so we had to buy hand soap at the nearby Mercado. Service was poor. Reception was often empty, and the girl who was usually there was unfriendly. When we asked how to use the AC/heater, she rolled her eyes. Water that looked like sewer water was leaking badly through the ceiling on the reception floor. The fire alarm went off early in the evening when no receptionist was there again. She later returned and switched it off manually, saying someone had been smoking, but I don’t know whether she checked for a fire. If you just need somewhere to crash with a larger group, the location and space could work. For a comfortable stay, I’d look elsewhere.

The staff were courteous and friendly, and the property is in an excellent location. It has an elevator for easier access, and the rooms are quite comfortable. The bathrooms could have been cleaner.
