Novotel Madrid Center

The room was cleaned and water was brought every day, but I wish they had topped up the coffee and tea too. I stayed here for a second time, and the breakfast was fine on days one and two. The menu didn't change over the four days, though, and by the last two mornings I'd lost my appetite. Next time, if I come back, I won't include breakfast in the booking. We stayed from the 24th to the 28th of February. The TV wasn't a Smart TV, and the bathroom had shampoo and soap but no conditioner. There was also just a small box of tissues or napkins, as shown in the photo.

I spent two weeks at Novotel Madrid Center in December 2025. The area was quiet and felt safe, with public transport a short walk away and straightforward access to central Madrid and the main sights. Cafés, supermarkets, and restaurants were plentiful nearby. The room was modern, clean, and comfortable, with good quality bed and pillows. The soundproofing was enough for a good night's sleep, even on New Year's Eve. Housekeeping was regular and discreet, and the lobby and bar were spacious places to relax or work. Staff were professional and mostly friendly, and check-in and check-out went efficiently despite the Christmas and New Year rush. Breakfast had lots of hot and cold choices, with fresh food replenished regularly even on busy days. At peak times, though, the breakfast room got crowded and there could be a short wait for a table. The room could also use more storage for a longer stay, including a coat hanger outside the wardrobe. The curtains seemed like they could be replaced more often. Some details disappointed me: the bathroom had no ventilation, and there was no hair conditioner or body lotion, unlike at Novotel hotels in Europe. Sustainability might be the reason. The water bottles and tea bags included in the room tariff weren't refreshed daily. I wasn't offered an upgrade, and the receptionist said upgrading a room for two weeks would be a major loss for the hotel. Even with those issues, the location, comfort, cleanliness, and service made my holiday very enjoyable. I'd recommend it for business or leisure, especially for a stay of several days.

The bar staff were friendly and looked after us well. At the front desk, everyone was cordial, took care of our needs, and gave useful suggestions.

For work trips in Madrid, this is the hotel I keep coming back to. It can feel a little odd at the entrance and gets crowded with groups, but the rooms are spacious, spotless, and have dependable Wi-Fi. The location makes it easy to get around quickly, and breakfast gives you a good start on an early morning. A comfortable, convenient, dependable stay for business.
