The hotel was a good choice apart from one frustrating issue. My son was in a soccer program and his bus left very early, so sitting down for breakfast wasn’t practical. I couldn’t just take a coffee and something quick, like a sandwich or eggs, with me. I’ve never stayed at a hotel that restricted or complained about guests doing that, and it was inconvenient for us. The location is excellent for exploring Madrid, breakfast was delicious with a wide range of options, and the staff were polite and friendly, especially Heizel. If you’re staying near a soccer-playing child’s program, think twice to avoid an unpleasant situation. Hotels in the U.S. work very differently, and we heard many in Madrid follow the same guest-friendly approach as American hotels. I’d advise future guests to consider this breakfast policy before booking.
I’ve stayed in dozens of Madrid hotels on business, and this was the worst. I hated my stay and won’t be back. The whole place looks and feels cheap, and the entrance is easy to miss because it’s so well disguised. The reception desk is tiny, and the dark corridors have awful decor that reminded me of shipping containers and felt unsafe. My room was just as bad: dark, with a weird ceiling, worn-out pillows, cheap-looking bedding, and weak wardrobes. The bedside unit was only a shelf. The so-called desk was ridiculous, with the telephone taking up almost half of it. Everything felt cold and grey and white. The shower was pathetic, possibly bought from Alibaba website, and because it has no door, water goes all over the floor. I also can’t get over the condescending “this is a towel” label displayed on a towel. Breakfast was low quality too, and the dining tables and chairs felt like the cheapest possible. The breakfast area was shared with reception, the corridor, and the elevators, which I didn’t like.
The location is a real plus, close to every mayor road/plaza and easy to reach by Metro. We had a very pleasant weekend at Petite Palace. The rooms were clean, nice, and big enough for us, and breakfast had everything we needed. Service was great too, Mariano checked us in and was very kind. At both arrival and departure, we could leave our luggage in a locked room. We’d certainly recommend the hotel!
I’ve never stayed in a better hotel. It’s right in the city center, the rooms were super clean, comfy, and warm, and breakfast was to die for. The people were all amazing. When I had a health issue, they were so willing to help me, and I still can’t believe how lucky I was to have them there. Special thanks to amazing Ana and Heizel, you girls rock! If I could give more stars, I would.
The hotel is well located in Madrid, and the young staff were unquestionably friendly. But the room conditions fell short of what I’d expect from a 4-star hotel. On the first day we reported that the safe wasn’t working, but no one provided the needed help right away, leaving it until the next day. Overnight, the toilet cistern began leaking constantly and making an annoying noise. We told reception the following morning, and they said they’d ask the technician to come. When we returned that afternoon, nothing had changed. Reception then suggested we might move rooms and gave me a key to inspect another one. The replacement room was clearly below the hotel’s standard too. It had a sloping ceiling made of PVC sheets, a skylight because the room was poorly lit, and windows so small you had to bend down to open them. Still, we accepted it since at least the toilet seemed quiet. Then, on our last night, it rained and the ceiling made a ridiculous concert, as if we were in a hut. Water dripped in the bathroom by the sink. We had paid in advance and couldn’t cancel, so we were stuck because they wouldn’t refund us. I don’t consider this hotel trustworthy.
