The biggest problem was how much sound came through the walls. Our neighbor wasn’t making nuisance noise, just chatting, cooking, and watching TV, but I couldn’t relax in my own room because the noise suppression was so poor. The television was another disappointment. I could only get one channel, a reality show, despite trying lots of options with the remote. Staff tried to fix it promptly and thought the remote might be the wrong one. They suggested Netflix or YouTube, but I don’t have accounts for those, and the issue wasn’t fixed during our three nights. The bed was very comfortable, and when I asked for two extra pillows, they brought them promptly. The room was contemporary and very clean, and daily cleaning was to a high standard. The building itself was spotless too. The shower was good and the water hot. We got a warm welcome on arrival, and the location was convenient for both the metro and the city centre. There were some practical issues in the room. The bedside tables were too small for my phone, book, cup, and other things, and there was no bin except the small one in the bathroom. There was no proper suitcase stand either. My small case had to balance on a little stand beneath the clothes rail and fell off. The double room had just one chair. The pale window blind didn’t block daylight or provide much privacy, especially with windows facing ours across and beside the small courtyard.

The reception team were helpful, the shower pressure was great, and the air conditioning was clean and worked nicely. There’s also a mini fridge in the bedroom. Everything feels new and tastefully done, though a bigger bedside table would help fit a phone, water, and a book. The bathroom counter is small, a shelf for products would be useful, the blanket could be bigger, and a desk in the bedroom would be handy. Some of those details may still be works in progress since the place is brand new. The location is perfect. We walked to all the main sights, including Plaza Mayor, Puerta del Sol, Museo del Prado, Mercado de San Miguel, and C. de la Cava Baja with its tapas bars. There’s a 24-hour supermarket on the corner and two metro stations or lines nearby, though you hardly need them for sightseeing. I’d definitely come back. A great experience, and I’d recommend it to anyone visiting Madrid.

For my one night before flying home, I wanted somewhere central, clean, comfortable, quiet, and good value, so I could see as much of Madrid as possible in a few spare hours. This hotel delivered on all of that. The room was spotless and incredibly comfortable, the service was exceptional, and the hotel is in a beautiful, unusual building. Getting in was easy with the hotel’s pin key system. There’s plenty to explore on foot in every direction, including Plaza Mayor, Mercado de San Miguel, Calle Cava Baja, and Gran Vía. I need to spend more time in Madrid, and this will be my go-to place to stay. 11/10, absolutely recommend!

We had a great stay, and the location was perfect. The room was really nice, spacious, and decorated well. Since it’s new, a couple of useful things seemed to be missing. A bin in the room would help. There was only a tiny one in the toilet for toilet paper, so we left our rubbish out for housekeeping, but they left it there, perhaps because they weren’t sure what was rubbish. It also got a bit cold at night, so an option for a duvet or warmer blanket would have been good.
