We'd be happy to stay here again if we return. It’s a short walk to the beach, with plenty of good restaurants nearby, and the setting gives you a break from Málaga’s bustle while still letting you reach the city by bike, car, or on foot. We enjoy walking, and it took about 45 minutes. The staff are very friendly, though a little Spanish helps. Rooms are cleaned daily, so please keep yours tidy and respect the cleaning staff. Dogs are allowed for €10 a day, but not in the breakfast area. Street parking is free but can be tricky; there’s also a nearby staffed car park for €20 a day. The hotel has its own parking too, but it needs to be reserved well in advance. We didn't try breakfast, so can't comment on it.

I enjoyed my stay. The room was clean, quiet and nice, and I was glad to have a fridge for food. The hotel is around 4-5km from the town centre. You can stroll along the seafront and take in the views, or catch a bus from a stop about five minutes away. The main drawback was that check-in was only available until 4pm, and the receptionist didn't speak English.

We arrived late at night, and the staff were accommodating, making sure we knew how to get into the property. They were welcoming, and our room stayed clean and comfortable. It's a small, cozy hotel in a quiet suburb just outside Malaga, so it didn't feel crowded like larger city hotels. Getting around by public transport is easy, with a bus stop serving Lines 3, 8, 11, & 34. There's also a postal box nearby. We had a great stay and will come back next time we're in Malaga.

Hotel Elcano is an easy walk from the seafront, with a sandy beach that's safe for swimming and lots of bars and restaurants serving good food and drinks at very reasonable prices. Bus stops for routes 3, 8 and 11 are right outside on both sides of the road, making it easy to get to the centre of Malaga. We had a fabulous few days in this comfortable, clean hotel, and the staff were so helpful. Wonderful stay, and we highly recommend it.

The neighbourhood is one of the oldest in Málaga and has direct access to the beach, including a great play area that's ideal for families. It was also not too loud. We were very happy with the service, cleanliness and facilities, and the bed was comfortable.
