San Miguel Menorca

We’d happily come back. The rooftop was lovely to sit on in the evenings, and breakfast was great. Everyone was warm and friendly. It’s a small gem right in the centre of beautiful Mahon.

I slept better here than I have in a long time. The bed was big and really comfortable, and the room itself was spacious, clean, and had lovely views over the neighborhood’s white and red roofs. I was here with friends but also needed to work, and the Wifi worked perfectly everywhere, from the quiet room to the comfortable terrace and cozy breakfast patio. Breakfast was amazing, with local specialties, homemade cakes, and several gluten free choices. Ileana, the hotel manger, gave us excellent suggestions for car rental, beaches, tourist attractions, and restaurants. They all turned out to be exceptional, and the rest of the staff were kind too. Menorca is a wonderful place for sunsets, and this hotel makes it easy to relax right in the centre of Mahon.

We arrived at 18.30 and the receptionist had already left, so we waited 15 minutes for someone to open the hotel door. The rooms were small, dark, and pretty run down, with an old, noisy air conditioning system. The internet also didn’t work properly, and the breakfast area felt dark and had no charm. We’d clearly asked for a room for three work colleagues with a separate bed for each of us. Instead, there was one double and one single bed, and the single bed didn’t even have sheets. The manager was very rude. The pictures don’t show the rooms accurately. A terrible place.

I loved the courtyard and terrace, and the hotel is quiet and clean, right in the heart of Mahon. The service was great. Ileana manages things with real care and passion, and breakfast was delicious, clearly made with love. We had a fantastic stay in this lovely little hotel, and I warmly recommend it.
