Apartamento Mediterraneo 1D

I stayed in this building twice. The studio I booked through ABnB was on the 14th floor, hosted by Ignacio. It had a frontal sea view from the highest floor, and the flat was well kept with most of what a couple would need. Ignacio was a gracious, excellent host. The video is from the studio balcony. The location is almost perfect, right in the heart of Marbella’s Old Town. It’s a five-minute walk to the town centre, with plenty of bars and restaurants just outside. The building is old, the lifts are slow, and the management can be hit and miss. My boyfriend got so fed up with the lifts that he’d walk all 14 floors up and down. He’s lived in New York too long. I’d only dealt with two building managers, whose names I didn’t get. One was friendly and the other rude, so I guess it’s luck of the draw. About half the building seems to be ABnBs, with the rest occupied by residents. It appears pet friendly, but I imagine whether you can bring pets depends entirely on your host. Be cautious of a French guy named Paul/Pascal. He says he’s in his 40s, though to me he looks in his 50s. I was alone on my first stay in Marbella, and he said it was his first time too and that he was looking for company. He pressured me into his flat and did things I can’t describe here. He stays on the 10th floor, and the ABnB he runs is on the 11th or 12th floor. I came back a second time with my boyfriend because that first encounter had marred my holiday and I wanted to have a better one. Young women travelling alone should be cautious. That experience aside, if you’re after good value, a well located flat, and spectacular views, you can find one in this building if you’re willing to be flexible and research suitable properties.
