The snack bar was a real find, with friendly staff and plenty of food and drinks at fair prices. Sol Y Paz is right across from the Europa centre, so bars, shops, entertainment and places to eat are close by. We stayed in April 2024 and had such a good time that we’re coming back in May. The rooms are simple, clean and comfortable, and the returning guests make for a welcoming atmosphere. We walked down to Amadores and Puerto Rico beaches, though the climb back was too much for us, so we took a taxi for about 5€. A taxi to the Commercial centre was about 6€. It’s a two-star place, so I don’t understand people expecting five-star standards at that price. See you soon!

I’ve travelled a lot and stayed in plenty of hotels, but I’ve never been treated like this. I’m from the UK, though I’m Hungarian, and I was travelling with a friend who doesn’t speak much English. We arrived with two other couples, all of us with Jet2, and had to wait for someone to check us in. A man came over and said he was only helping the proper staff and didn’t really know what he was doing. After some confusion with another couple’s paperwork, he told me I had to leave my passport overnight and collect it at 9 the next morning. I wasn’t comfortable with that, and offered to come back at 9 instead. He quickly got angry and shouted, “Shut up, shut up. You won’t get your key if you don’t give your passport!” I was shocked. One of the other men stepped in and told him he couldn’t speak to me or behave that way. He gave us one key and said we’d have to pay for another. My friend handed over her passport and got a key. I had to leave reception and spend half an hour catching my breath. I’m 57, and I’ve never experienced anything like it. My holiday was fully paid through Jet2. I called them and explained what happened. The woman I spoke to apologized and said they’d call me back about the incident. Avoid this place, especially if you’re a woman travelling alone. Update: We never saw anyone from reception, only this man, who works in maintenance and was dealing with guests. On Sunday my friend asked him again for another key, since we were still stuck with just one. He said he’d been agitated because he was taking nine different medicines, and, as my friend told him, he didn’t think he’d said anything bad to me.

The shopping centre right across the road was a bonus. We’ve just returned from a week here and had a great stay. A very good hotel for a two-star place, and I’d definitely come back.

We had a lovely two weeks here. The pool and pool bar were excellent, and the place was great value for a two-star stay. The rooms are very basic, though, and could do with an update. It’s especially handy if you like the Europa Centre. Taxis up and down cost about 8 Euros each way, which suited us better than walking. I’d stay again, though I’d personally rather be nearer the Shopping Centre. Enjoy!

Everyone makes you feel welcome here, and the apartments have a safe, community feel. Ours was very clean, and the pool was clean and safe too. The bar staff and Hayley were all really friendly. There’s happy hour every day from 4-5, with events planned during the week. It’s a good option if walking is difficult, just ask for a ground floor apartment. Coki is fab ☀️😊 We stayed for a week and thought it was brilliant.
