Nordotel Hotel Revoli

We had a lovely sea view from room 307 on the 3rd floor, though it didn’t face the pool. Reception is on the 6th floor and the pool, restaurant and bar are on floor 0. The rooms are well equipped, housekeeping comes regularly, and an iron can be borrowed from reception. The pool and restaurant were lovely, and there’s a small shop on site. Staff were friendly and efficient. The location was ideal, about a 10-minute walk to the main harbour and shopping area, with beautiful views along the way. It’s very hilly coming back from town, and there are lots of steps down to the harbour and back. A taxi can be arranged at reception for roughly €5. Just got home from an amazing trip, and Grupotel Revoli was fantastic from beginning to end. I’d definitely return.

We stayed for 10 nights while my partner took part in Bike week of Gran Canaria. The area was really nice, with lots of restaurants within walking distance, public street parking just outside and a small supermarket near the hotel. The housekeeping team were amazing, though reception staff were just okay. The pool was always busy, and breakfast had very limited choices.

The room was a long way from the rest of the hotel, which was difficult for me as I was pregnant. It had a balcony but no pool view. Housekeeping was done, though the quality varied depending on who cleaned that day. One room’s air conditioning worked, but the other didn’t seem to get cool air, so the system felt underpowered. There were cats around the grounds, so be careful, they might bring fleas into the room. We arrived late at night and asked about parking, but the website hadn’t made clear whether it was free or paid. We were surprised to find it cost €40 for the week. When I asked why the information wasn’t online, staff just said “no” and didn’t make us feel welcome. Breakfast was average, and dinner at the hotel restaurant was very bland and disappointing. I wouldn’t recommend eating there, though drinks may be fine. Our stay was okay, but parking information, staff friendliness and food quality all need improvement.

The other reception staff were lovely: they greeted us, quickly arranged duvets and fresh towels, and helped with a late checkout without any trouble. We enjoyed the stay and were happy with the hotel overall, despite a difficult arrival and the room we were given. Our room was on the ground floor facing a wall, with no sea view. We asked for a higher floor but were told that was absolutely impossible. The receptionist on the evening we arrived, after leaving our previous accommodation because we couldn’t stay there, was unfriendly and unwelcoming. He seemed irritated that we’d called ahead and insisted he couldn’t check us in until Booking.com sent confirmation, even though we showed him our booking. We were left waiting a long time and the process was unnecessarily difficult. He rarely greeted guests and generally seemed unhappy. We asked for duvets but got more of the same blankets already in the room. No one explained the hotel or its facilities, so we had to work things out ourselves. We also learned only after asking to rent a safe that the deposit had to be paid in cash to be returned. More consistent service at reception would make this an excellent place. Grupotel Revoli has a great location near the beach and town center, and the pool area was pleasant. We spent most days at the beach and relaxed by the pool too.
