The pool is tiny and you have to get to it by climbing what feels like two million steps. It’s packed and only waist-deep, presumably saving on lifeguards. There were babies and toddlers there, which didn’t seem appropriate to me. For safety and hygiene, they should have a separate small pool for them. You pay expecting a certain standard from the facilities and this is what you get. I wouldn’t recommend the resort or the pool. A classic case of trying too hard and failing. Very disappointing.

You can stay in the water for ages because it never feels cold. This is one of two almost matching pools in the Los Patios Residential Complex, in the Playa Macenas Urbanization of Mojácar Playa. It's calm and usually uncrowded, and stays open until 10 pm. There's a shower and wooden decking, though it can get warm underfoot and there's not much shade. Good for a swim, cooling off, or little kids to splash around and learn to swim.

Really peaceful place, and a good choice for families. The resort itself is lovely, though which pool you use depends on where you're staying, and getting around means going up and down quite a lot of stairs.
