Hotel Park

The hotel is old and seems short staffed for its size. Our room was really dirty, and the air conditioning didn't work. During our three day stay, we couldn't wait to get back out of the room. Breakfast was the one decent part. It was good, fairly varied, and average compared with the rest of the hotel. The pool was small but pleasant. If we get the chance, we will NOT come back.

The hotel clearly mattered in its day, but it seems to have been left to decay without renovations. The owners were stretched out on the reception sofa watching TV as if they were at home, which perhaps they were. That's a minor gripe, though. The real problem is cleanliness. An old, unrenovated place is one thing, but this hotel's conduct is criminal. I stayed twice, once by choice and once because of my company's negligence. I tried to cancel the second stay, but they refused. Both times there were ants in the bathroom, the shower head was chipped, and the room smelled of damp and tobacco. That wasn't a coincidence. I'm still giving two stars because the staff were friendly and polite, including at reception, despite their mistakes. I've read other reviews I agree with, but not those about how guests are treated. Maybe their methods or protocol aren't right, but that's all.

We had no problems during our stay from June 9th to 13th, when the hotel hosted my school trip with 81 children. The owners were incredibly welcoming, the rooms comfortable and the cleaning excellent. The food was very good, and so was the breakfast buffet. It's ideally located beside the Noia estuary, with the town center within walking distance. I also brought a wheelchair, and the hotel was well adapted, with a ramp and elevator. Definitely a 10/10.
