PR Una Estrella Dorada

Even though it’s room-only, there’s a small kitchen for guests, and the rooms have plastic trays for backpacks, a clever way to help keep things clean. Una Estrella Dorada is right on the Camino de Santiago, small but efficiently decorated and acceptably clean, very much the typical Camino accommodation. The service could be better, though. The receptionist was cold and not at all empathetic. Sadly, I’ve seen that attitude in many places along the Camino, where staff seem annoyed and take pilgrims for granted, as if they forget these businesses would quickly be out of business without them.

A great place to stop and rest while you’re on the road. The team is incredible, and the pension is very clean, with comfortable beds and a big kitchen where you can make tea or use the fridge on hot Spanish days. There are plenty of restaurants and cafes nearby, with lots of food to choose from. Thumbs up!

Raquel, our host, went above and beyond, making sure our backpacks were transported properly and helping with anything else we needed. The place is also handy for local shops and restaurants. I loved staying here: the hospitality was outstanding, and the rooms were bright, super clean, and comfortable, with everything a pilgrim needs. Even the bathroom was lovely and bright. I could wash my clothes and hang them by the window, and they provided clothes pins. Gracias!!

The house is beautifully kept, with gorgeous wooden floors and lovely rugs. All the bedrooms are beautiful too, and have rubber mats to protect the floor from bags. Our host gave us a warm welcome, took time to show us around, and explained that two bedrooms share a bathroom. The bathrooms had toiletries and a hair dryer, and fresh towels were supplied. Each floor has a well-stocked kitchen. When I hurt my knee, the host even found me an ice pack and a support pillow, and gave us taxi booking information and directions to the church. We didn’t need air conditioning, though it would have been a big advantage in warmer weather. All in all, a great place to stay on the Camino.
