Camping Lluçanés

The place looked tidy, clean, and well organised, which was the one good thing. But €37 for a single night with our camper felt wildly overpriced, at least in October. We were the only ones at the campsite, and even the owner went elsewhere to sleep.

The campsite was clean and cozy, with roomy shaded plots and staff who were attentive. The billing is what brought it down to four stars. A friend arrived Saturday at 12:30 and left Sunday at 11am, but we were charged for two days. The same applied to us: we came Friday at 6pm and stayed until 1:30pm Sunday. On Friday they said it counted as two days if you arrived at 10am and left after noon. Aside from that, it was very good.

The assistant was really helpful, though I'm not sure whether they're family or an employee. The site itself is comfortable and well cared for, and the pool is decent. Bathrooms could be better, but they were kept clean. Joan, the owner, was another story: he kept patrolling, seemed very distrustful and rigid, and came close to being rude. He also wasn't very forthcoming about which pitches were available or how reservations worked. We were put on a half-pitch even though there seemed to be room for more space given how many campers were there. I was annoyed that nobody explained this and I had to hear it from other people. His management and manner need work.

We stayed three days in our van and had a great time. The pitches are roomy and shady, the campsite is well looked after, and everything was very clean. It's also a pleasant place to stay, with lovely scenery around it. Staff were attentive and happy to point us toward places to go. You can walk or bike into town along the roadside, where we found three playgrounds, shops, and two excellent bakeries. We'll come back!
