La Casona de Calderón Gastronomic & Boutique Hotel

The name says gastronomical, but when we asked, the receptionist told us the chef had left and they hadn't changed the hotel's name. It felt like a scam. They were relying on a photo trick. Our room's bathroom door wouldn't close, there was no hand soap by the sink, and we had no window facing outside. The pool was quite dirty, and the shower drain didn't work properly, so water collected. We paid 93€ for one night, and the place was worse than hostel quality. I've never seen a hotel or staff so amateurish about the hotel business. I do not recommend it.

We had a very pleasant stay here for two weeks, and staff were around around the clock. Our sheets and towels were changed every day. The hotel also has a good restaurant and a small museum about the building's origins. It could use another pair of hands on the staff, though. Our ground-floor room opened onto the patio, where you can have breakfast or sit by the small pool. It was equipped to be comfortable for someone using a wheelchair. Sounds carried easily into the room, especially when people had breakfast or drinks before heading to their rooms at night.

It's a quirky place with a unique charm, and I loved staying here. The room has a vintage style. Just know that a junior room is simply larger, not a suite. The pool is small and refreshing, with ants and chlorine around the edge. The junior suite felt a bit overpriced, but the stay was fun.

I was welcomed like family coming home. It's such an eclectic hotel, with amazing staff and, oh boy, the food! If you're after somewhere special to eat, this is definitely the place. Osuna is stunning, with wonderfully quirky shops. Once you get away from the centre, there are some really special historic sites to discover. I'd definitely recommend staying here.
