Eurostars Marivent Hotel

The hotel is beautiful and perfectly located, and the reception staff were very kind and eager to help. It was spotlessly clean, and you can feel how much effort management puts into keeping standards high. I skipped breakfast this time because of specific allergies to dairy and beef, lamb, and goat, as well as vegan fasting days. For travelers with allergies, clear ingredient labels on the buffet, if they aren’t already there, would make this hotel an ultimate destination. Thanks for the wonderful hospitality. I had a fantastic time and would definitely return.

We had saved for this trip and wanted a relaxing holiday, but the hotel’s condition made the stay deeply upsetting and disappointing. No one told us before arrival that major construction was underway. Had we known, we would have booked somewhere else, since pool access and outdoor seating mattered to us. A few hours after checkout, builders were working on the exact rooms we’d stayed in, which only reinforced that those rooms weren’t suitable for guests. The hotel has been accused of fake recent reviews in this post, and the reviewer calls the hotel thieves. Despite Booking.com trying to recover a partial refund, the hotel hasn’t offered any money back. Construction covered the building exterior in scaffolding, and the grounds were like a building site, with rubble, waste, and ongoing work. Builders worked all day in rooms opposite ours, causing significant noise and disruption. We couldn’t use the pool or hotel terrace. Reception said it wasn’t “in season,” though nearby hotels had open pools with guests using them. It seemed clear to us the construction was why those areas were unavailable. The hotel bar was also closed, and the hallways and stairwells were dusty and dirty. The rooms were in poor condition, with peeling bathroom ceiling paint, rusty mirrors, and holes in the bedroom curtains that let sunlight through. The view from the balcony was unpleasant, and the noise meant we couldn’t enjoy it. One morning, I found a hair in my breakfast. We had to spend extra money elsewhere because we couldn’t relax comfortably at the hotel. On the last day, a nearby hotel let the four of us use its pool if we bought lunch and drinks, which cost about €140. That expense could have been avoided if our hotel’s facilities had been available. One of my friends, Rosie Riddell, was whistled and catcalled by builders while walking to the shop. As four women staying there, we felt very uncomfortable and unsafe.

The staff were friendly and very helpful, and the location is great. But the rooms have terrible sound insulation, and there are no carpets on the floors. You hear every click of your upstairs neighbors’ heels, believe me, for half the night. Each time more drunk girls came back from the bar, the noise woke us up. Avoid this hotel at all costs.

The suite was amazing, and it has a bathtub. I didn’t take any pictures of the suite itself, but I did photograph the beautiful view from its balcony.
