JS Palma Plaza Hotel

Breakfast was a highlight: cooked to order rather than buffet, with loads of hot choices like eggs Benedict, omelettes, sausages, beans and bacon, all freshly made and piping hot. There were also coffees, fresh orange juice, smoothies, fruit, pastries, toast, and the usual continental options. The location is good, about a 15 minute walk to the city. The room was tiny, with no drawers, though the shelves were enough for four nights. The two single beds were comfortable. The bathroom was great, with a powerful hot shower and lovely Rituals products, and the furnishings were lovely too. The pool area is nice but very small. The room was meant to be soundproof, but it wasn’t. Most staff were great, though a couple weren’t very friendly. Still a good stay, and I’d come again.

The rooftop pool is little, but pleasant, with loungers. We caught a few sunsets and sunrises up there, and there’s also an indoor pool with a sauna. Outside, traffic made the built-up area feel a bit noisy, though that wasn’t an issue once we were in the room. Our room was spacious and clean, apart from the cramped bathroom. Reception staff were friendly and helped arrange taxis when we needed them. The location was the main letdown for us. It felt a bit far from the centre, and walking there took a while.

The hotel is modern and nice, and the staff were friendly and very helpful. Our room was spotless, if a little small, but fine for three nights. Breakfast had plenty of choice and was all freshly prepared. The location worked for us if you don’t mind walking a bit: about 15 minutes to the old town and roughly the same to the marina. There are also plenty of buses passing the hotel.

After a long day, it felt lovely to come back and be pampered. I especially liked the interior design and those big windows that let in so much natural light. The toiletries smelled amazing. I even checked the Rituals website to buy them because I’d never come across those scents before, but couldn’t find them there. Maybe they’re exclusive to hotels.
