The meals were a lovely surprise each evening, with different dishes made from local ingredients, much of it grown in Xurxo’s garden. Xurxo was such a friendly host, and his English was very good, even though we wished we could speak more Spanish. We spent two peaceful nights at Reitoral de Chandrexa, surrounded by beautiful scenery, and enjoyed a couple of local walks. It’s rustic and full of charm. We loved our stay and hope to come back.

I was hoping for somewhere calm and peaceful, and this place in the heart of Ribiera Sacra was just right for me. I’ve travelled all over the world, but nowhere has suited me like this. The house is fantastic, with simple, comfortable accommodation. Xurcho, though I’m not sure I’ve spelled his name correctly, was kind and attentive and made me feel very welcome. I hope I can return. Thank you.

The organic, traditional meals are wonderful, and the house itself has been restored with real respect for its original structure and materials. It’s a beautiful place to switch off and experience Galicia in the simplicity and calm of another time. A truly excellent choice.

Xurxo and his wife were so attentive that we felt completely at ease throughout our several nights there as a couple. The homemade and locally sourced breakfast and dinner products were lovely. The house is old, but very well cared for, in a peaceful rural setting, and we had a very pleasant stay.
