The house itself was spacious, comfortable, clean, warm, and nice. The owners’ service, though, went from nonexistent to awful. They didn’t answer any of our messages before arrival, including the ones about our pet, arrival time, and key collection. We’d booked a three-bedroom house for four people, but on arrival we found one bedroom locked and unavailable. They had decided, for reasons we didn’t know, how many beds we could use and who would sleep where. We choose three bedrooms for four people because that’s what we need. If two rooms were enough, I’d have booked a cheaper two-bedroom house. We take these trips twice a year, and this has never happened before. When we asked where it said they would lock a room for a group of four, they said it was what THEY USUALLY do, but they hadn’t warned us or stated it anywhere. They just decided for us. This happened on a Friday afternoon in below-freezing temperatures, after we’d paid ten days earlier. We spent an hour and a half trying to find a solution. The owner offered no solution or alternative, didn’t apologize for the misunderstanding, and didn’t check in over the next two days or make any other gesture. Nothing. In the end, three adults slept in one room on a horrible extra bed that I wouldn’t recommend even for a 10-year-old child. I wouldn’t recommend this place unless they clarify this issue. Good luck getting that sorted, though: we couldn’t speak to the owner until we were standing at the door.
