The room was damp, small, and dim, and the WiFi was extremely slow. At breakfast, a very rude girl at the service desk criticized me for going downstairs to get hot water because there was no kettle in the room. The staff generally seemed unfriendly. I can't believe this is meant to be a 4-star hotel. It's overpriced and overrated, more like a 2/3-star place. Stay away.

The room was clean and well maintained, and the bathroom was in good condition, but the space felt small and cramped. I was there to start my Camino de Santiago trek, and the location seemed a little removed from it. There didn't seem to be many dining choices nearby, though maybe I just didn't explore enough.

The main problem for me and my friend was the beds. They were hard as rock, and we found it nearly impossible to sleep on them. Maybe that's how some people like a bed, but it didn't work for us. Everything else was neat and clean: the entrance, halls, room, and bedroom looked recently renovated. The hotel is perfectly located near Ponferrada train station, and the front desk staff were very kind and helpful.

The staff were very helpful, and the hotel was clean and tidy, modern, and better than I expected after reading some reviews. It's a bed-and-breakfast with limited public space. The location works well for bars and food, but it's a 10-minute walk to the historic centre.
