Alda Centro Pontevedra Hotel

The bed was really comfortable, so I got a good night’s rest on the Camino. It’s an older but clean, nice hotel, with nice bathrooms and a café on the ground floor. The staff are excellent. The elevator only fits two people at a time, so on the 6th floor I was nose to nose with my wife each ride.

The front desk staff were nice and clearly understood the problems, but management didn’t acknowledge or address the main issues. For the price, it was simply dreadful: shabby rooms, unsafe electrics, and a noisy courtyard with broken blinds.

We got awful rooms for a very high price. The noisiest and most expensive hotel on the Camino! There was no air conditioning, and the rooms were noisy with the windows open.

The corridors smelled like urine, the bathrooms were especially dirty, the rooms were old, and the internet barely worked. There were odd noises, smells, and lights coming from the kitchen downstairs. Nobody working at the hotel spoke English. The worst part, though, was being woken by bedbugs an hour after I fell asleep. I’d spent six nights in albergues and one in a private hostel on this trip without that problem. I’d booked a room by myself for 30€ because I wanted more privacy and a chance to relax on my birthday. I wish I’d stayed in an albergue instead. I’m 100% sure I would’ve had a much nicer birthday night with 20 other people in one feet-smelling room. Stay away for your own good!!!
