Apartamentos Club Pocillos

The beach is right across the road, so the views were amazing and the location was spot on. Our two-bedroom apartment was spacious, clean and well equipped, though a little dated. It didn't have a balcony, but being so close to the beach made up for that. We had a lovely five-day stay.

The location was good, but the apartment itself was very basic and noisy at night. The rooms, walls and doors all needed a proper clean. The toilet smelled, and after showering the dirty floor left the bottoms of our feet black. The sheets were clean, though the blue bed covers were stained. I wouldn't stay here again.

The water from the shower was cold and brown, and our departure arrangements were just as bad. We had to leave the room at 10am and collect our luggage at 3pm. There was no courtesy room, just a toilet. When I asked about a shower, I was told they didn't have one, despite a poster advertising showers for €5 per person. We had to change in a toilet, take our bags to the restaurant a few doors down, then wait on a bench out front with all our luggage until the bus arrived at 5:30pm. The hotel wouldn't store it for us. Earlier in the stay, after we went out for a few hours on Tuesday, we came back to find the room ransacked. They only managed to take a bottle of aftershave, but had broken the safe trying to get in. The manager told us not to call the police and said maintenance would deal with it the next day. When we saw him the following morning, he was arrogant and said he couldn't do anything because we hadn't called the police. We explained that the manager had told us not to, but he wasn't interested. We arrived on Monday night and would never stay here again. Shocking.

The apartment's location was good, but the hygiene was only average, if that. It would be helpful to have the option to pay for air conditioning when booking, since it's not included in the price. We checked in quite late because of our flight, then had to leave early in the morning. That left us out in the heat all day until our afternoon transfer, without even a toilet or basic facilities. We had to find somewhere to sit with our suitcases.
