Every morning I take food and water to the kitten colony at the shelter, paying for it from my €628 pension. The City Council is supposed to care for them, but doesn't, and the shelter manager has told the cleaning and maintenance staff to throw what I bring away. Last year she put a "No Dogs Allowed" sign on the facade, and she's finally finished taking it down. This is a clear breach of Law 7/23 of March 28th, on the Protection of Animal Rights and Welfare. Once again, the people who ought to set an example are breaking the law with impunity.

The beach is right there, and the town is charming, with very welcoming people. Staff were helpful and friendly, and the facilities were clean and varied. The service felt right for a quality hostel, and it seems ideal for families or a relaxing trip.
