ibis Barcelona Ripollet

The price was fair, and that's the one thing that keeps this at two stars instead of one. I expected more from the Ibis brand, and the stay was disappointing. From arrival, the staff were unhelpful and didn't explain the basics. No directions to the room, no hotel information, and nothing about breakfast times or cost. It felt cold, like we were being processed rather than welcomed. I was also asked for my card details in case I damaged something and IBIS could charge me. I understand deposits, but the way they put it was uncomfortable and badly handled. We had no WiFi because of a Vodafone issue. Problems happen, but nobody explained it properly or offered an alternative. At night, doors kept slamming and people shouted in the corridors, so it was hard to rest. The hotel's outside area was dirty and messy, which made a poor first impression. The weak service, poor communication, and uncomfortable atmosphere let the stay down. I wouldn't choose this location again.

The hotel is decent and meets international standards, though it's around 30-40 minutes by train from central Barcelona. The trains weren't always reliable for us: a couple of times we waited more than 40 minutes on the way back from the city center. Returning late, especially on weekends, the neighborhood didn't feel very safe. We had no problems, but I felt uneasy around people in the street, so stay aware and careful. The room was quite spacious and got cleaned daily, with fresh towels provided. We had a fantastic experience and would highly recommend this place.

The breakfast had plenty of variety, and there are several restaurants nearby for lunch or dinner. The area was quiet, with the hotel entrance facing a pedestrian area and a park that was great for children. We stayed here to escape the noise from the big festivals in my city. The service was very good, and the room was fine for a couple of quiet nights.
