Helmantico

The room was clean and comfortable, though a little dated. Breakfast was traditional, simple Spanish food in a restaurant where locals also eat. The staff were brilliant and very patient with my not-so-good Spanish. It's handy when travelling through Spain, although there's not a lot nearby.

Alejandro at reception was a huge help when I told him my wife had broken her ankle. He went out of his way to help her reach our room, then ordered food from the cafeteria next door for us. My Spanish is nonexistent, but his English was very good, and he even carried the food up on a tray. That was far more help than we expected. We were driving from Estepona to Santander after cutting our holiday short, and the hotel was conveniently close to the motorway, about four hours from the ferry port. The room was basic but spotless and comfortable, and the price was excellent. There was plenty of free parking on site too. After a 6 1/2 hour drive, the two juicy burgers from the cafeteria really hit the spot. I'd definitely stay here again.

Breakfast had a good selection, and the reception staff provided very good service. The room was spotlessly clean. It's a no frills stop close to the motorway, with free parking and a restaurant/bar attached. I'd gladly stay again when I'm passing through.

The decor in the restaurant and bar looks straight out of the 1970s. It felt a little dated, but in a cute way and brought back memories of our 1978 honeymoon in Benidorm. Check-in was friendly, the price was good, and the roadside hotel is reasonably quiet with quick access from the highway.
