The room was outdated, though the bed was fine. Breakfast wasn't good either, the scrambled eggs tasted like they'd been made the day before. When we complained about the street noise, the receptionist only said she was sorry. The location in central Salamanca is perfect, but the noise carried on until around 5 a.m., then the city cleaners started at 6. For €145 a night, the quality and lack of sleep made no sense to me. Awful hotel. I don't understand the Booking rating.

We ended up paying an extra €57 when we arrived for a single night. The advertised parking was full, all six spaces, so with our car full of belongings we had to use a secure lot elsewhere. That cost €20 and meant walking back to the hotel. They also charged €37 for our dog for just one night. We expected a small pet fee, but had never come across anything close to that much.

If you need sleep, avoid this place. Noise outside and around the hotel went on constantly until about 6:30 a.m., even though it was midweek. A truly terrible stay.

We heard why the bedside table had earplugs by midnight: bars and clubs right below the hotel kept people drinking, partying and talking loudly until morning. A good night's sleep seems unlikely here. I’d look elsewhere. The hotel is on a pretty square in the historic district, with old buildings and landmarks within walking distance. Getting there by car is difficult, though, and the advertised parking was full. We had to leave the car in the nearest covered lot, which worried us since this is Spain and things can be stolen from cars. Our room was spotless, smelled pleasant, and had lovely classic decor and a clean bathroom. But we were charged €30 for bringing our small dog. Breakfast wasn't included, and at €14 per person it disappointed: a couple of cheeses and salamis, hardly any vegetables, scrambled eggs and cold boiled eggs. I'd skip it. For only €5 more, you could eat somewhere else with food that's tastier, more filling and healthier.
